Dax was formally known as Deutscher Aktien 30 and was introduced on 30th December 1987, with the basic value of 1000 points and it represents a growth index of 30 companies with the best quality and most liquid stocks on the Frankfurt stock exchange.

Germany has belonged to the members of the Eurozone with the highest growth of GNP for a long time, this index, which has the highest market capitalisation on the international market it incredibly important.

The importance is reflected by the fact that companies of the DAX index represent 75% of the German market capitalisation and automotive, chemical, consumer, pharmaceutical and health industry are among the highly performing industries of the DAX index. Those that are the less performing industries include construction, software and technological industries.
